Email: Simple Security Tips
Simple is sometimes the best prevention.
If you receive an email from a sender you don’t know, there are a few simple security tips that can save you time and money before you open that joke/infected email.
1. Look at the email in a preview mode.
2. Google the email address.
3. Go to a “Who is” look up for the owner of the domain name (after the @ sign).
4. Don’t link from the email. Copy and paste the link.
5. Enter the domain name – what appears after the @ sign – in an Internet browser.
If your anti-virus flags the email and you don’t know who it is from, let be the end of it. Leave it alone. You have enough to do.
If, however, curiosity gets the better of you and you get infected, I know an excellent computer guy.
